Project Background

In an era where globalization and informatization are deeply integrated, people’s pursuit of spiritual culture is increasingly diverse and profound, creating vast space for the spread of Chinese traditional culture and Zen mindfulness methods. An international non-profit organization (hereinafter referred to as M Organization) has long been dedicated to this field and accumulated rich experience.

However, with the diversification of information dissemination channels, M Organization’s learning resources were scattered across official websites, social media, third-party education platforms, and other channels. This not only increased the difficulty of resource management, making it hard to form effective communication synergies, but also complicated the paths for users to access learning content, severely impacting the learning experience and the organization’s brand image.

M Organization wanted to centralize and access all rich learning resources on one platform, allowing global enthusiasts of Chinese traditional culture to interact and collaborate. To meet this need and enhance its influence worldwide, M Organization decided to partner with aTalent to create a digital learning platform that integrates scattered resources and provides comprehensive and systematic learning support to overseas users.

Project Requirements

1. Resource Integration and Centralized Management

Integrate M Organization’s scattered learning content from the official website, social media, and third-party platforms into a new platform. Build an independent course display module and centralize content control for the core team.

2. Co-Creation and Global Adaptation

Develop a User-Generated Content (UGC) module to support the sharing of learning resources. Adapt the platform for multiple languages and devices (PC/mobile) to meet the high concurrency access needs of overseas users.

3. Organizational Capability Enhancement

Use the platform’s construction to drive the internal management process of M Organization, enhance brand image, and better promote outstanding Chinese traditional culture overseas.

Project Implementation Challenges

The uniqueness of this project lies in the fact that the client team is entirely composed of non-full-time volunteers, distributed across North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa in different time zones, with limited time for collaboration. The core team had to frequently coordinate night-time meetings, and cross-functional groups faced communication gaps due to differences in professional backgrounds.

Additionally, the organization’s unique cultural ecology, such as transforming offline activities like flower arrangement appreciation and Zen tea ceremonies into online learning scenarios, had to preserve the spiritual core while being restructured to fit the logic of a digital platform. This posed dual challenges in demand analysis and product architecture.

Tailored Solutions

To address the collaboration challenges of a dispersed team, aTalent adopted a “dual-track management” strategy: On one hand, custom visual collaboration boards were created for core members, breaking down tasks into units that could be completed in 30 minutes, allowing progress during fragmented time; a “terminology translation library” was also developed to translate professional terms into cultural concepts familiar to the volunteers, reducing communication costs.

To meet the overseas learning habit adaptation needs, a gamified “progress badge” system was introduced, linking learners’ online learning activities with offline community participation, forming a blended reward mechanism.

Project Results and Long-Term Value

1. Impressive Platform Learning Data

The platform gained strong initial attraction, with 1,387 active users within six weeks, and an average learning time of around 1 hour. A total of 185 badges and rewards were issued based on gamified learning experiences.

2. Long-Term Value

With the continuous improvement of the “course quality certification system” and “instructor grading system,” the platform is now equipped with the foundational framework to transition into a knowledge-pay model. This may become an innovative example for sustainable operations of non-profit organizations.

Looking ahead, the digital learning platform of M Organization will continue to expand and deepen based on existing results. As the user base grows, M Organization aims to create an immersive online learning experience, where learners can virtually step into offline activities like flower arrangement appreciation and Zen tea ceremonies, deeply experiencing the profound and unique charm of Chinese traditional culture.
